Behavioral Assessment Team
The Behavioral Assessment Team is a group of specially trained mental health professionals who work with families of children with special health care needs and behavioral challenges. This service is provided to children who live in Yakima County. The Behavioral Assessment Team is provided by the Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic Behavioral Health Services at Children's Village.
The Behavioral Assessment Team:
- Serves children with behavior challenges ages birth through 12 years of age who also have special health care needs (including ADHD, learning disability, and developmental delays).
- Provides a comprehensive evaluation to determine why the misbehaviors occur, and then works with the family to create plans to address the behaviors.
- Provides behavioral intervention and support in the home, school and child care settings.
- Provides training and consultation for professionals, social skills groups, and parenting groups.
Services are covered by medical coupons or private pay arrangements.
