Cleft Palate Program
The Cleft Palate Program at Children's Village provides diagnosis and treatment for children with cleft lip and/or palate. Services are provided for children who live in Central Washington. Services are provided by Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital. The program provides planning and coordination of care for children through a team approach.
The following service providers are members of the Cleft Palate Team:
- Medical professionals
- Dental professionals
- Speech and Language Pathologists
- Genetic Counselors
The Cleft Palate Team provides a written treatment plan, which outlines recommendations from all of the above specialists.
The program serves as a source of information and guidance to help families understand the recommended treatment plan, inform families of financial resources, help schedule and coordinate appointments and follow through with treatment recommendations.
Each child enrolled in this program is followed from birth and is reviewed by the team on a regular basis depending on the needs of the child and his or her family.
Coordination of services is provided free of charge. Other services are covered by medical coupons, some insurance policies, and other funding sources identified.
Referrals can be made by contacting Children's Village at 509-574-3260 or
