Pediatric Physical Therapy

Pediatric Physical and Occupational Therapy Services are provided at Children's Village through Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital for children birth to 18 years.

Emphasis during therapy is placed on enhancing a child's ability in a variety of settings by training and working with the family. Therapists participate in a variety of diagnostic clinics, individual and group therapy settings, pool therapy, and home-based therapy.

Therapy may focus on:

  • Gross and fine motor development
  • Sensory integration
  • Oral motor and feeding skills
  • Parent/family training
  • Cognitive development
  • Socialization
  • Splinting and equipment needs
  • Functional mobility

Therapies may be provided at the Village in a clinic setting, in the child's home or childcare, in the therapy pool, or other appropriate settings. Qualification is based on a therapy evaluation.
