10th Year Anniversary

"You look at me….." a seemingly simple expectation on behalf of a parent. But sometimes a parent's journey turns to the unexpected. The healthy child they dreamed about turns out to be different than anticipated. As one parent states, "It was a moment I had prayed would never come". With a parent's awareness or a diagnosis, the journey begins. With support, families begin the process of healing, grieving and helping their child be all that they can be.

In October of 1997 Children's Village opened its doors. The mission was to provide "a place" for children with special health needs and their families. Since that day, 16,000 children and their families have entered Children's Village in Yakima or in Sunnyside for services, support, and care. Children's Village has become a philosophy of care and not just a building.
